Backstory

Early Life

I grew up in the Bible Belt. It was a weird time. I grew up in a small town in Arkansas. We had a farm with chickens and goats and dogs. Learned a lot about farming and all that. Definitely a “been there, done that” kind of thing. If I never have to fix fences or stack hay again in my life, I’ll be perfectly fine.

Education

I was home schooled up through high school age. During home school, I took my first steps in learning how to write computer code using Visual Basic…

In 2008, I enrolled in high school at a local public school. Four years and only a few traumatic social situations later, I graduated.

University of Arkansas at Fayetteville is where I went to college. I achieved a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (with enough credits for a minor in Computer Engineering).

All that said, we all know that education doesn’t stop after formal education. I’ve taken short courses and researched current topics since graduating.

Career

Through college, I worked at various jobs from building electrical panels for my dad’s business to running deliveries as Jimmy Johns.

I started my career in CNE Software Development after college, working outside Chicago, IL.

At the start of The Pandemic, I moved out to the DC Area for a new job, still in the CNE space. I have been here ever since.

Hobbies

My wife says that my only true hobby is collecting hobbies. She’s not entirely incorrect. I enjoy doing lots of things from electronics and programming to lock picking to leather work and motorcycle riding. Also shooting precision rifles.

For a while now, my main extracurricular activity has been leather work.

Personal Life

I have been married since 2017 and we have a beautiful little girl who was born in 2019. I have a cat who is a little older than the daughter, but is very understanding of the craziness of small children. Also, the cat is on prozac because, of course he is.
